Coil coatings will in the future be marketed and further developed jointly by Frankfurt-based Chemetall GmbH and paints producer Anton André Sohn, Oppenau.
Early in March the two companies reached a far-reaching cooperation agreement in the field of UV-cured organic coatings, mainly used as welding and lubricant primers, applied directly by the coil manufacturer to meet specific requirements in subsequent processing steps, such as quality, processing properties, environmental acceptability and corrosion resistance. Main users of such coils are the car industry and manufacturers of architectural systems.
The new technology combines lower production costs for coil manufacturers, with high quality and environmental benefits for the end-user.
The joint development and marketing of this promising technology are the declared objectives of Chemetall and Anton André Sohn. The primers developed by Anton André Sohn in recent years, are a perfect combination with Chemetall GmbH chrome-free pre-treatment systems – together they deliver a high-performance, environmentally friendly package.
Chemetall GmbH, a subsidiary of Dynamit Nobel AG, Troisdorf, is a worldwide leader in the field of metal surface treatment, with excellent access to the car and coil industries, among others.
Anton André Sohn offers innovative paint and coating systems for wood, metals and plastics. Development is focused on sustainable technologies such as aqueous, solvent-free systems, and UV paints.
